Happy Birthday to my awesome Husband

Yesterday was Da's birthday. He wanted to spend the day as a family, we went out to dinner(I was happy not to have coney dogs this year) and I made him a brownie cake(first time in about 5 years he did not request a cheesecake) I hope that he had a wonderful day and that he knows how much we all love him. He is the best husband and most loving Daddy in the world. The girls were so excited to give him the presents they had for him. Too sweet. It was Sadie's idea that we have party hats.

So, since this is my sweet hubby's birthday, I wanted to feature some of his recent accomplishments. Last weekendwas flipper bowl 15. Some of you may remember from last year. It is a ward activity involving a paper football tournament. It really is hard to describe how elaborate this activity is, you really have to see it for yourself. It starts with a 5K run in the morning(we skip that), an afternoon parade for the kids to be in, tailgating after that, followed by the kickoff. Its a single elimination tournament, which ends in a stadium with real bleachers that have been built just for this activity!

Now for the featuring of my awesome husband! He placed second, making it to the final round! Sadly he lost to a 16 year old young woman( she was the first ever girl champion in flipper bowl history,so that was cool for her)

More about my awesome husband......he joined a intramural basketball team through the college. One of his students asked him to be on his team and he gladly accepted. Although after he came home from the first game I asked him how it went. He responded with" I am a old old man" This is the final week with the tournament going on. He has done great and I think he has had fun. We have only gone to one of his games( most are at 9 or 10 at night, just too late for the kids)but the one we went to the kids loved!!! The girls cheered for their daddy and Jack was engrossed in the game. He kept trying to get Da to throw him the ball.
